1. Mount Everest:
Mount Everest is the Earth's highest mountain. It is located in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas. Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) above sea level. Mount Everest attracts many highly experienced mountaineers as well as capable climbers willing to hire professional guides. There are two main climbing routes, one approaching the summit from the southeast in Nepal (known as the standard route) and the other from the north in Tibet.
2. K2 (Godwin Austin):
After Mount Everest K2 is the 2nd highest mountain in the world. It is 8,611 meters (28251 ft ) high from the sea level. It is located on the border of Pakistan and China. Its very dangerous to climb K2, usually one person died out of four while climbing K2. It has never been climbed in the winter season.
3. Kangchenjunga:
Third highest mountain in the world, located on the border of Nepal and India. It is about 8,586 meters (28129 ft ). Kangchenjunga was first climbed by Joe Brown and George Band in 25 May 1955.
4. Lhotse:
The fourth highest mountain in the world located on the border of China and Nepal and having an altitude of 8,516 meters (27940). First climbed in 18 May 1956.
5. Makalu:
Fifth highest mountain in the world, about 8,485 meters (27,838 ft ) high from the sea level. Located on the border of China and Nepal. It is like four sided pyramid and two notable peaks. It was first successfully climbed in 15 May 1955 by Lionel Terray and Jean couzy.
6. Cho Oyu:
Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world having an altitude of 8,188 meters (26,864 ft). It is located in Tibet, Nepal-China border. It is considered easiest to climb and was first climbed in 19 Oct 1954.
7. Dhaulagiri:
It is the seventh highest mountain in the world with an altitude of 8,167 meters (26,795 ft ), located in Nepal. First climbed on 16 May 1960 by Kurt Diemberger, A. Schelbert, E. Forrer, Nawang Dorje, Nyima Dorje.
Its parent mountain is K2.
8. Manaslu:
Eighth highest mountain of the world having the height 8,163 meters (26,781 ft ). It is located in the range of Himalaya, Nepal. Its name means "Mountain of the Spirit". Manaslu was first climbed in 9 May 1956 by a Japanese team.
9. Nanga Parbat:
The ninth highest mountain of the world located in Pakistan in Himalaya range with parent mountain Dhaulagiri. It has an altitude of 8,126 meters (26,660 ft ). It was climbed in 3 July 1953. This mountain is really difficult to climb, this lent it the nickname "Killer Mountain". Like K2 it has never been climbed in the winter season.
10. Annapurna:
The tenth highest mountain in the world with an altitude of 8,091 meters (26,545 ft ). It is located in Nepal. It was first climbed on 3 June 1950 by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal. Annapurna I has the most fatality rate.
